特朗普曾說，貿(mào)易戰(zhàn)“很容易打贏”。美國網(wǎng)友：這下啪啪打臉了吧！

這兩天，關(guān)于“稀土”的新聞引起了世界輿論的關(guān)注。

原因很簡單——稀土太重要了。而中國官方，最近又“恰好”就稀土表態(tài)了。

昨晚，國家發(fā)改委有關(guān)負(fù)責(zé)人就“稀土”問題回答記者提問的報(bào)道，迅速成為了國內(nèi)外關(guān)注的焦點(diǎn)。

其中記者問，稀土?xí)蔀橹袊粗泼绹驂旱奈淦鲉幔?/p>

負(fù)責(zé)人含蓄地答：“如果有誰想利用我們出口稀土所制造的產(chǎn)品，反用于遏制打壓中國的發(fā)展，那么我想贛南原中央蘇區(qū)人民、中國人民都會(huì)不高興的。”

——言下之意，某國你可以試試看。

這不，“稀土”一事瞬間引起了全球的注意——國外很多人仿佛恍然驚醒：原來，中國還有這么張牌？

而且，這何止是普通的牌……這簡直是“王炸”??！

美國各大媒體出動(dòng)，紛紛科普：“稀土”是啥、為什么重要、中國在稀土領(lǐng)域的地位、中國這張稀土牌對美國有多可怕……

美國知名財(cái)經(jīng)媒體彭博(Bloomberg)，就簡單明了地用4個(gè)問答介紹了一番：

稀土是什么？

A group of 17 chemically related elements found in mineral form that have magnetic and optical properties useful for making electronics more efficient.

是十七種化學(xué)金屬元素的總稱。它們以礦物的形式存在，具有磁性和光學(xué)性質(zhì)，可使電子器件的效率更高。

2. How rare are they?

稀土有多稀有？

Not as rare as other precious metals such as gold or silver. But they’re usually so intermixed with other minerals as to make their extraction and refinement costly.

3. Who controls them?

China and other parts of Southeast Asia dominate both the mining and processing of rare earths.

中國和一些東南亞國家主導(dǎo)著稀土的開采和加工。

The country accounted for 71% of the world’s rare earths mined last year, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Australia and the U.S. were distant runners up, together producing less than a third of China’s 120,000 metric tons.

美國地質(zhì)調(diào)查局的數(shù)據(jù)顯示，中國去年的稀土開采量站全球71%。澳大利亞和美國的產(chǎn)量遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)落后于中國，二者相加還不到中國12萬噸總產(chǎn)量的三分之一。

The U.S. relied on China for about four of every five tons of rare-earths imports between 2014 and 2017 and last year purchased $160 million-worth, up 17% from a year earlier.

4. What role have rare earths played in the trade war?

Not much so far. President Trump exempted U.S. imports of rare earths from the latest round of tariffs imposed on Chinese goods, after including them in a previous round of duties.

稀土目前還沒怎么被牽扯到貿(mào)易戰(zhàn)中。特朗普總統(tǒng)原本將稀土列入了上一輪對中國商品征（增）收關(guān)稅的名單，但已將它從最新一輪征（增）收關(guān)稅的名單中豁免。

Emmmm....合著特朗普覺得，把稀土從進(jìn)口征稅名單中豁免，還是給中國天大的福利了怎么著？

如果中國真拿起稀土這張“王炸”來反制美國，美國會(huì)受到多大的影響？

美媒CNBC提到了這樣一句：

“The U.S. only imported about 4,000 tons of rare earths, worth about $175 million. The problem is most of the rare earths we import are embedded already in the technology. If we buy a computer, they are already in it,” said Marc Chandler, global market strategist at Bannockburn Global Forex.

“美國是只（從中國）進(jìn)口了約4000噸、1.75億美元的稀土。但問題是，我們進(jìn)口的大部分稀土已經(jīng)嵌入到科技鏈之中了。我們買的電腦里都已經(jīng)有稀土了。”Bannockburn Global Forex全球市場策略師馬克?錢德勒表示。

沒有稀土，可能你手里的什么蘋果手機(jī)橘子電腦，都不是那么回事了。

更讓美國害怕的是，依賴稀土的絕不僅是電子展品。它還維系著更多領(lǐng)域的生命——

U.S. oil refiners rely on rare-earth imports as catalysts to turn crude oil into gasoline and jet fuel. Permanent magnets, which use four different rare-earth elements to differing degrees, pop up in everything including ear buds, wind turbines, and electric cars. And China dominates their production.

美國煉油商依賴進(jìn)口稀土作為催化劑，以此將原油轉(zhuǎn)化為汽油和航空燃料。永磁體在不同程度上需要四種不同的稀土元素，而它會(huì)出現(xiàn)在任何東西上——耳塞、風(fēng)力渦輪機(jī)、電動(dòng)汽車等。而中國主導(dǎo)著它們的生產(chǎn)。

“It would affect everything—autos, renewable energy, defense, and technology,” said Ryan Castilloux, the founding director of Adamas Intelligence, a strategic metals consultancy.
